Have you tried searching at 4shared? For specific books, I put in the title + pdf or google it. People upload books all the time on mediafire and box.net too so I add "mediafire" or "box.net" in the searches. Project Gutenberg for free and legal classics. Others I get from livejournal communities, but you have to sign up first.

Also, some books come with .Lit format, so download ABC lit converter to convert them to pdf/html. Hope that helps dear!

I knooow. It's the reason why I buy books - I can read 'em online, borrow from library or listen to the audiobook but there's something special about holding a pretty hardcover book in your hand...
